Indian agriculture will emerge world class in coming times: Shah


New Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that Indian agriculture would emerge world class in coming times.Taking to twitter, he said “Agriculture is the foundation of the Indian economy, the Modi government has been striving for the past six years to strengthen it”.”I believe that PM @narendramodi’s untiring efforts, the Indian agriculture will be world class in the times to come”, he further added in the tweet message.”Today for the development of agriculture and rural areas, PM @NarendraModi-led Cabinet launched Rs 1,00.000 crore Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and also transferred Rs 17,000 crore to the accounts of 8.5 crore farmers under PM-Kisan fund, I thank the Prime Minister for these initiatives”, Mr Shah said in another tweet.The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund will accelerate the creation of many agricultural infrastructure such as cold storage, collection centers, processing units so that our hardworking farmers will be able to get the right price for their produces, the Home Minister further said. This will generate new employment opportunities and will also strengthen the rural economy, he added.Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a new Central Sector Scheme of financing facility under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund of Rs one lakh crore to support in building community farming assets and also released the sixth instalment under the PM-KISAN scheme of Rs 17,000 crore to nearly 8.5 crore farmers.The scheme will support farmers, Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS), Food Processing Organisations and agri-entrepreneurs in building community farming assets and post-harvest agriculture infrastructur
