New Delhi, More than four lakh candidates downloaded the admit card for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020) exam released by the National Testing Agency on Wednesday in the first three hours. Over 15 lakh candidates have registered for NEET UG 2020 which is due to be held on September 13.Despite growing political pressure from several Opposition parties to postpone holding of the exams next month, NTA in a statement on Tuesday said it will go ahead with the NEET-UG 2020 as scheduled in September.More than 85 per cent of the candidates have already downloaded the JEE Mains admit card released by NTA on August 17. Over 9.5 candidates have registered for the JEE?Mains, which is scheduled to be held between September 1 and 6. Hand sanitisers, gloves and masks are among the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) recommended by the NTA for candidates taking the NEET and JEE-Main exams.In other measures, candidates will be required to maintain social distancing and staggered slots for candidates reporting at exam centres in order to avoid crowding at exam centres.NTA has issued detailed protocol for conducting NEET UG, including all staff members and candidates, will be checked with Thermo guns at the entry point for fever and those displaying any symptoms of fever will be seated in separate isolation room. Frisking by metal detector held with long handle will be mandatory for all candidates and body pat frisking will be avoided.Manual attendance with signature with candidates wearing gloves will be taken. No thumb impressions will be taken.Hand sanitisers will be available at entry and inside exam centres.
