New Delhi: Mother of 5-year-old girl Pari, who was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by a minor boy at Jadupur village in Nayagarh district, has moved the Supreme Court.
The woman has filed a writ petition in the apex court seeking CBI investigation into the case.
The Odisha Government had earlier directed the State Crime Branch to probe into the matter. Subsequently, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by IPS officer Arun Bothra was formed by the agency.
The SIT later arrested a 17-year-old boy of the village over his alleged involvement in killing the girl.
However, the deceased’s parents had accused one Babuli Nayak of the area of killing their daughter. They had claimed that Nayak is an associate of Minister Arun Sahoo and was being shielded by the Nayagarh MLA.
The couple had also alleged that the killing was linked to organ trading.
