Pegasus controversy rocks Rajya Sabha again, House adjourned till 1200 hrs

New Delhi:The alleged snooping scandal again rocked the Upper House of Parliament on Tuesday with opposition members raising slogans and showing placards soon after the Rajya Sabha assembled for the day.

Some of the members came into the Well of the House raising slogans like “Tanasahi Nahin chalegi” and “Modi Sarkar hai hai”.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu appealed the slogan-shouting members to go back to their seats but no heed was paid to the requests. As members continued their protests, the House saw the first adjournment of the day till 1200 hrs.

The current Monsoon session of the Parliament has been marred by frequent disruptions and adjournments with opposition parties digging their heel over the issue of alleged snooping using Israeli spyware Pegasus, controversial farm laws and Covid-related issues.
