Mumbai, The death toll in Raigad building collapse rose to 16 on Wednesday with the recovery of five more bodies, an official said.Till Tuesday, the number of deceased stood at 11.With this, the 40-hour-long rescue operation came to an end with the recovery of seven male and nine female bodies, Raigad Police Control Official Meena Sanap said.As per reports, over 75 people were rescued, who were buried beneath the debris of five-storey Tarique Garden building in Kajalpura area of Mahad town, which collapsed on Monday.The building, barely ten-year-old, housed 200-225 people.
Besides the local administration, including the police and fire department, three NDRF teams were also involved in search and rescue operation.
