Bhubaneswar: The registration section of all RTOs across Odisha will remain open on October 24 and 26 from 3 PM to 5 PM to facilitate registration of vehicles. The decision has been taken by the State Transport Authority as sale of large number of vehicles is expected during the Durga Puja. The RTOs during the two days will receive the registration documents from dealers and allotment of registration number. The RTOs shall make necessary roster arrangement accordingly and also intimate to all the dealers under their jurisdiction regarding such facility. The RTOs will also approve registration of NTV vehicles done through dealer point on all four days of Durga Puja holidays (October 23 to 26) on work from home basis. As per Rule 42 of CMV Rule 1969, no dealer can deliver any motor vehicle without its registration and without affixing HSRP number plate. All RTOs have been instructed to check the dealer premises and ensure that no vehicle is delivered without registration and affixing HSRP. In case the dealer delivers vehicles without registration and without affixing HSRP, steps shall be taken for cancellation or suspension of the trade license of the dealer, the State Transport Authority said.
