Sachin Tendulkar tests positive for COVID-19

New Delhi: Former India captain Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday said he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in home isolation.

“I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure Covid is kept at bay. However, I’ve tested positive today following mild symptoms. All others at home have tested negative,” the 47-year-old cricket legend said in a statement posted on Twitter.
Sachin further said he has quarantined himself at home and is following all protocols as advised by the doctors.

“I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country. Take care all of you,” he added.

Maharashtra has been the worst pandemic-hit state of the country with capital Mumbai alone, where Sachin is residing, recording a massive spike of 5,513 COVID-19 cases on Friday. The caseload in the country’s financial capital is 3,85,628, including 11,629 deaths.
