Singhu, Tikri border to remain closed

New Delhi, Delhi borders with Haryana, including Singhu and Tikri, will continue to remain closed for traffic movement amid the on-going farmer protests. Delhi Traffic Police has advised motorists on Tuesday morning to avoid these border points and take alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.The police has also informed regarding the border points with Haryana that will be open for traffic movement, wherein two of them are only for the movement of two-wheelers, that are Badusarai and Jhatikara.Borders open towards Haryana for vehicular movement include Jharoda, Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8,Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam vihar and Dundahera, the Traffic Police said.
Taking to twitter traffic police said, ”Singhu Border is still closed from both sides. Please take alternate route. Traffic has been diverted from Mukarba Chowk & GTK road. Traffic is very very heavy. Please avoid outer ring road from signature bridge to Rohini &Vice versa, GTK road, NH 44 & Singhu border.””Tikri border is closed for any Traffic Movement. Available Open Borders to Haryana are following Borders Jharoda, Dhansa, Daurala Jhatikera, Badusari, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera borders,” another tweet read.Movement of traffic especially around Singhu and Tikri borders has been affected due to the gathering of farmers who headed to Delhi for the ‘Chalo Dilli’ call by the farmer organisations.Large number of farmers from Punjab sat at the Singhu border protesting against the agriculture reform laws, demanding to repeal the three laws and other demands.
