Three migrant labourers found dead on railway track in Kerala

Palakkad, Police personnel are trying their best to pacify the agitating North Indian workers after three migrant labourers were found dead on the railway track near Kanjikode near here late on Monday night. Police sources identified the deceased as Hari Om, Kanhai and Arvind Kumar, all natives of Jharkant, and contract workers at the Indian Industries of Technology (IIT) in Kanjikode. Police sources said despite preliminary investigation confirming they were hit by a train, a section of the migrant labourers assembled there prevented police from removing the bodies alleging that Hari Om was murdered and then brought at the sport. The agitating North Indian workers pelted stones and attacked the police vehicles when the cops tried to remove the body from the spot around midnight. Later, the police shifted the bodies of the other two to the medical college hospital for post-mortem by round 2 at midnight. Senior police officials have reached the spot on Tuesday morning and are trying to pacify the agitators who are demanding compensation for the families of the deceased, sources added.
