TN CM to visit Cuddalore to assess cyclone damages


Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi
K Palaniswami will be visiting the cyclone-hit areas in
Cuddalore district today.

He was expected to leave for the coastal district around
noon from his camp office in the city.

As Cuddalore suffered major brunt of the cyclone fury,
the Chief Minister, during his visit, would assess the
damages caused by the calamity.

Cuddalore received the maximum of 28.2 cm of rains
during the last 24 hours ending at 0830 hrs this
morning, followed by Parangipettai in the same
district which recorded 19 cm of rains.

The Cyclone Nivar made a landfall near Puducherry
close to the Cuddalore coast. Meanwhile, Chennai city received 9 cms of rain and
the suburban Meenambakkam 12 cms.
