Total Cov-19 recoveries cross 50 lakh cases

New Delhi, Even as Covid-19 cases tally in India crossed the 60-lakh mark on Monday, total recoveries too crossed the milestone of 50 lakh cases.At 50,16,520 recoveries, India’s steady trend of posting a high level of daily recoveries continued with 74,893 recoveries being registered in the past 24 hours in the country.India has witnessed a high level of more than 90,000 daily recoveries in the recent past and the total recovered cases outnumber active cases by more than five times.According to an official release, there has been close to 100 per cent increase in recovered cases in one month, taking the national recovery rate further to 82.58 per cent.Fifteen states and UTs are showing recovery rate more than the national average.As much as 73 per cent of the new recovered cases are being reported from 10 states — Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Kerala, Odisha, West Bengal and Punjab.Maharashtra leads the tally with more than 13,000 new cases of recovered patients.From one lakh recoveries in June 2020 there has been a steep rise as 10 lakh recoveries were added in just 11 days.A whopping 78 per cent of the total recovered cases were recorded in 10 states and UTs. Maharashtra contributed the maximum to the total recovered cases followed by Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.A total of 82,170 new confirmed cases have been reported in the past 24 hours in the country, of which 79 per cent of the new cases were concentrated in 10 states. Maharashtra contributed more than 18,000 to the new cases. Karnataka contributed more than 9,000.
