Barabanki, A 17-year-old girl, who had gone to harvest paddy, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Satrikh area here, police said on Thursday. In-charge Superintendent of Police RS Gautam here said that the girl had left her home on Wednesday afternoon to harvest paddy. When she did not return till late evening, her father reached the farm where he found the girl’s body. Upon receiving information, police also reached the spot. The family have suspected rape. The forensic team was also sent to the spot. After the statements of the family members were recorded, the body was sent for post-mortem late night. Further probe is on.
