‘Vocal for Local’ contains resolve for self-reliant India: Shah

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the inauguration of Amrit Mahotsav dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Independence, and said the Premier’s vocal for local call contains the resolve for self-reliant India.
In a series of tweets, Mr Shah said, “Gandhiji’s 1930 ‘Dandi Yatra’ (Dansi march) gave a boost to the freedom struggle, so today, this 2021 march under the leadership of Modi ji will energise the resolve for self-reliant India”.
”The fulfillment of the resolve of self-reliant India is contained in Gandhiji’s Swadeshi campaign and Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’, the Home Minister said.
”Modi ji has time and again said that the future belongs to India, but it is possible only when we work towards a self-reliant India while discharging our duties,” Mr Shah noted.
The Union Home Minister said, ”I believe that indigenous items, especially Khadi, play an important role in keeping us connected to our culture and roots. At the launch of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence by Modi ji, let us all pledge to use the goods made in India and make the country self-sufficient in every field. ”
He said, ”On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vocal for Local call, I also bought a corset and diary from the nearby Khadi Bhandar. I appeal to the countrymen that you too can participate in this appeal of Modi ji and share the indigenous product purchased by you with the Vocal for Local. “
